Symposium on the EU's global and regional role and European integration of Ukraine

Security.WS.pdf

Handbook "Security. EU global and region role" has been written as a part of the Jean Monnet Chair project “EU Regional Security Role: Strengthening Awareness Within UKRAINE (EU-Sec), ERASMUS-JMO-2021-CHAIR, in order to facilitate discussion of security-related issues, especially European security architecture, security contribution of integration, and the European Union’s efforts for peace promotion.

In the handbook, the EU’s global and regional security role has been presented in conjunction with its two main building blocks: the security function of the European integration project and the development of security policies of the European Union. Such an approach makes it possible to outline a wide range of security-related issues of European integration – namely the origins and main features of the European peace project, a secure model of “ever closer union”, the EU contribution to regional security, and the foundation of its power, development of the EU security and defense policies and the externalization and diffusion of the European peace project – not limiting them to the discussion of instruments within the framework of the Common foreign and security policy and the Common security and defense policy.
